Using Bluetooth

The Bluetooth menu allows you to use many functions of your phone's Bluetooth service.

Activating Bluetooth Mode

The first step to use a Bluetooth function is to turn the Bluetooth on and then make it visible.

Turning Bluetooth On and Off

1.
Press MENU/OK > Settings/Tools > Settings > Bluetooth > On/Off.

Select On or Off.
Note: Enabling the Bluetooth settings affects the battery's talk and standby times.

Setting Your Bluetooth Visibility

1.
Press MENU/OK > Settings/Tools > Settings > Bluetooth > Visibility.
2.
Select Always Visible, Visible for 3 min., or Hidden.

Bluetooth Status Indicators

The following icons show your Bluetooth connection status at a glance:
indicates the Bluetooth feature is enabled (blue icon).
indicates your phone is discoverable by another Bluetooth device.
indicates your phone is communicating with a Bluetooth device.

Accessing the Bluetooth Menu

► Press MENU/OK > Settings/Tools > Tools > Bluetooth.

Pairing Bluetooth Devices

The Bluetooth pairing process allows you to establish trusted connections between your phone
and another Bluetooth device. When devices are paired, a passcode (PIN) is shared between
devices, allowing for fast, secure connections while bypassing the discovery and authentication
process.

From the Bluetooth menu, select an option:
Handsfree Pairing to find a headset or hands-free device.
Add to Trusted to find a device according to a specified device type. Select a device
type to search.
Trusted List to display a list of trusted Bluetooth devices. Select <Add New> to start
searching. Up to 20 devices can be listed.
Select the device you wish to pair with and press MENU/OK.

Enter the passcode and press MENU/OK. (When the owner of the other device enters the
same code, the pairing is complete.)

Edit the device name and press MENU/OK.
