N O T E : If your ABL1000WB was purchased with Aerotech controls, it might have been tuned with a representative payload based on the information provided at the time of order. If the ABL1000WB is started up without a payload, the servo gains provided by Aerotech with the shipment may not be appropriate and servo instability can occur.

Aerotech motion control systems are adjusted at the factory for optimum performance. When the ABL1000WB is part of a complete Aerotech motion control system, setup usually involves connecting the ABL1000WB to the appropriate drive chassis with the cables provided. Labels on the system components usually indicate the appropriate connections.

  • Page 31: Chapter 4: Maintenance

Maintenance Chapter 4: Maintenance The ABL1000WB series stages are designed to require minimum maintenance. Due to the non-contact air bearing design, there are no friction surfaces or dynamic seals to wear or require lubrication. However, it is important to clean the bearing surfaces and encoder strips to maintain the accuracy of the stage. This chapter will detail the cleaning and lubrication process and specify recommended cleaning solvents.
