Fully rinse the glass parts many times with dilution water (not distilled or deionized water).
3. Dry the exterior surfaces of the glass parts with a soft, lint-free cloth. Keep the interior surfaces
wet.
4. Clean the internal and external surfaces of the plastic parts and tubing with a laboratory detergent
and warm water.
5. Apply silicone oil to the exterior of the flow cell as follows:
a. Hold the flow cell by the top only to minimize dirt and fingerprints.
b. Clean the exterior surface of the flow cell with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove water spots and
fingerprints.
c. Apply a small drop of silicone oil from the top to the bottom of the flow cell.
Note: Use only the provided silicone oil. This silicone oil has the same refractive index as the flow cell glass
and masks minor glass scratches.
d. Use the oiling cloth to apply the oil equally to the surface of the flow cell. Remove most of the
oil. Make sure that the vial is almost dry.
Note: Put the oiling cloth in a plastic storage bag to keep the cloth clean.
6. Assemble and install the flow cell assembly. Do the steps in

Replace the O-rings
If the flow cell assembly has a leak, replace the O-ring in the top cap and bottom cap with the
replacement O-rings supplied. Refer to
Replace the sample tubing
At intervals, replace the sample tubing. Contamination (e.g., microbiological growths) is not easy to
remove from the interior surface of the tubing.
After the tubing is replaced, flush the tubing. Refer to
on page 11.
