5 Maintenance

5.1 Maintenance schedule task reference table [QL1]

The maintenance tasks and intervals for this product are defined in the Maintenance Schedule. The Mainte-
nance Schedule is a stand-alone publication.
The task numbers in this table provide reference to the maintenance tasks specified in the Maintenance
Schedule.

Option Maintenance tasks
Check engine oil level.
Visually inspect engine for leaks and general
condition.
X Check intercooler condensate drain.
Check service indicator of air filter.
Check relief bores of HP fuel pump.
Check relief bores of water pump(s).
Check engine for abnormal running noises,
exhaust color and vibrations.
X Drain water and contaminants from fuel pre-
filter.
X Check reading on differential pressure gauge
of fuel prefilter.
Replace fuel filter or fuel filter element
Replace air filter.
Replace fuel injection valves/injectors.
Replace engine oil filter when changing en-
gine oil, or when the interval (years) is
reached, at the latest.
X Check layer thickness of oil residues, clean
and replace filter sleeve at each oil change,
at the latest.
Perform endoscopic examination.
Generator: Check condition of coupling.
X Replace coolant filter.
Check and clean oil indicator filter.
Exhaust turbocharger: Clean compressor
wheel (MTU-ZR turbocharger).
Check and adjust valve clearance. ATTEN-
TION! First adjustment after 1,000 operating
hours.
X Check function of rod electrode.
X Check alarm function of differential pressure
gauge.
X Check pump capacity.
