6 Maintenance
27 Removing the fuel filter(s)
The filter elements are to be replaced as a unit.
• Close the fuel shut-off valve.
• Remove the fuel filters with a filter wrench.
Catch any liquid.

Keep naked flames away when working on
the fuel system. Do not smoke!

• Clean any debris from the filter carrier rim.
• Lubricate the rubber gasket sparingly with
clean motor oil.
• Fill the new filter with clean diesel oil.

N.B. 4 cylinder engine has 1 filter element
instead of 2

28 Installing the fuel filter(s)
• Install the filters. Turn the filter an additi-
onal one-half to three-quarters of a turn
by hand after the rubber seal touches the
housing.
• Open the fuel shut-off valve.
• Check for leakage.
After the replacement of the fuel filters, it is
not necessary to bleed the system.
The fuel system is self-bleeding.

Fuel filter replacement

Every 500 operating hours.
