    Introduction Congratulations on your purchase of the Extech MO290 Pinless Moisture Meter with Patented Built-in IR Thermometer. Monitor moisture in wood and other building materials with no surface damage with the Pinless Moisture sensor (Pin-type Moisture Probe included). Measure Humidity and Air Temperature with built-in probe plus non-contact InfraRed Temperature with patented IR design.

    Remove one Philips head screw and lift off the rear battery cover. Replace the 9V battery. Secure the rear battery cover. Never dispose of used batteries or rechargeable batteries in household waste.  As consumers, users are legally required to take used batteries to appropriate  collection sites, the retail store where the batteries were purchased, or wherever  batteries are sold.  Disposal: Do not dispose of this instrument in household waste. The user is obligated to take end‐ of‐life devices to a designated collection point for the disposal of electrical and electronic  equipment.     Other Battery Safety Reminders  o Never dispose of batteries in a fire. Batteries may explode or leak.  o Never mix battery types. Always install new batteries of the same type.  MO290-en-GB_V3.6 4/15 800.561.8187 information@itm.com www. .com...

    The meter will enter a sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity. The meter will emit a warning beep 15 seconds before shutting down.
