5.
If the air temperature drop is greater than 22 degrees then switch the cooling
speed to the next higher speed. If the air temperature drop is less than 18
degrees then switch the cooling speed to the next lower blower speed.
NOTE: If the cooling speed and the heating speed are the same, then
the heating pigtail from the board and the cooling pigtail from the board
can be attached to the same pigtail from the motor. Cap and secure
with electrical tape all unused blower speed pigtails.

SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

The unit has been factory tested to insure proper air conditioning
performance. If it is suspected that there is a refrigerant leak in the
unit then the charge can be checked by placing a thermometer on
the liquid line near the filter dryer and connecting a pressure gauge
to the high side pressure fitting. Use a R410A saturated temperature
chart to calculate the liquid subcooling. The unit is properly charged
if it is operating between 8 and 14 degrees subcooling at any outdoor
temperature above 65° F.
The system should be checked to see that none of the wiring worked
loose during shipment.
ROOM AIR BLOWER
The Dynapack unit contains a 5 speed motor to allow a range of
adjustments so the proper cooling and heating speeds can be obtained
after installation. Table 4 lists the factory settings for the heating and
cooling speeds based on capacity. The factory settings should work for
most installations but the actual ductwork will dictate the best settings
for your installation. The indoor motor is permanently lubricated and
does not require periodic re lubricating.
The room air blower is controlled by the unit control board in addition
to the wall thermostat. With the thermostat fan switched to 'AUTO', the
room air blower will operate only when there is a call for heat or cooling.
If the thermostat fan switch is switched over to 'ON', then the room air
blower will run continuously. The control board will over ride the wall
thermostat when switched to 'AUTO'. There are various delay timings
built into the board to delay starting and stopping of the room air blower
to increase comfort and energy efficiency.
The furnace also contains safety limits that will operate when an
abnormal condition is detected. These limits serve a particular purpose
and should not be tampered with by relocating or wired around. If the
furnace does not operate, or the room air blower does not come on, or
the a/c unit does not operate, then call a licensed service technician to
diagnose and repair.
The Dynapack unit is designed certified to operate up to 4500 feet
above sea level without modification for both the USA and Canada. Call
Technical Service at 423-775-2131 for installations above 4500 feet.

OPERATION IN EXTREME COLD OR SNOWY AREAS
In those areas where the ambient temperature is consistently below
0° F, indoor comfort can be improved by adjusting the heating blower
speed to obtain the maximum temperature rise allowed per the unit
data plate.
A Dynapack unit installed on the ground floor must have the furnace
intake and exhaust above the anticipated snow fall for that area. Higher
snowfall than anticipated will block the furnace intake and lead to the
unit shutting off.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING!
Disconnect all electrical power to the unit before conducting any maintenance
procedures. Failure to disconnect the power could result in personal injury or death.
BURNERS:
The burners can be removed for cleaning or changing orifices.
PLEASE NOTE: This service must be performed by a qualified
technician.
HEAT EXCHANGER
The heat exchanger should be inspected periodically by a qualified
technician and cleaned if necessary. If cleaning is necessary, use a
stiff brush with a wire handle to remove scale and soot. While cleaning
the heat exchanger, the vent extension tube should also be cleaned.
Remove the four screws on the combustion blower mounting plate and
take out the blower. Use a brush to clean the vent extension tube.
COOLING SYSTEM
The refrigeration system normally requires no maintenance since it is
a closed, self-contained system. Periodic maintenance is limited to:
Cleaning the air filter. Follow directions noted on the filter and
label attached to the access panel.
Cleaning the condenser coil if covered with any foreign
material, lint, leaves, or other obstructions.
On DYPA12 models, place a thermometer on the compressor suction
line above the accumulator. Connect a pressure gauge to the suction
line pressure port.
Use a R410A saturated temperature chart to
calculate the suction super heat. Acceptable values are shown on the
chart below.
