TROUBLESHOOTING

IntheunlikelyeventthatyoushouldexperienceproblemswithyourVanatooTransparentOneEncorespeakers,wehavelistedafew
suggestionsthatmighthelpyou.Ifthesesuggestionsfailtocorrectyourproblem,checkourwebsiteforadditionalsuggestionsor

Troubleshooting Steps
• Makesurethepowerswitchisswitchedtothe"ON"position.
• MakesuretheACpowercordisproperlyconnectedtothehouseholdwalloutlet.
• Makesurethewalloutletyouhavepluggedthepowercordintoisa"live"outlet.
• MakesuretheblueLEDhasnotbeendimmedtothepointthatitdoesn'tlight.
• Makesurethattheunitisnotinthesleepmode.
• MakesurethepowerLEDisilluminated.Ifnot,seethestepsfor"PowerLEDisnotilluminated".
• Makesuretheactivespeakervolumeknobisturnedup.
• Makesureyouraudiosourcevolumeisturnedup.
• Makesureyouraudiosourceisplayingaudio.
• Disconnectallbutoneaudiosourceinputontheactivespeaker.
• Ifthespeakerwaspreviouslyworkingproperlybutstoppedsuddenly,thismaybetheresultoftheoutput
driversexperiencingthermalshutdown.Thisisanormalprotectionfeatureanddoesnotindicateamalfunction.
Turnthepoweroffontheactivespeaker,wait5minutes,turndownthevolumeoftheaudiosource,thenturn
thespeakersystembackon.
• Ifpossible,trydifferentinputsontheactivespeakertoseeifoneworkswhereanothermaynot.
• Select"auto"withtheremote.
• Makesurethe4pincableisproperlyconnectedtotheactiveandpassivespeakers.
• Ifyouareusingtheanaloginput,makesurethe3.5mmconnectorisfirmlyseatedintotheconnectorinputon
theactivespeakerandtheaudiosource.
• Ifyouareusingthe3.5mmtoRCA"Y"cable,makesurebothoftheRCAconnectorsareproperlyseated.
• Makesurethebalancecontrolonyoursourcedevice(likeyourcomputer)issettothemidpoint.
• Ifyouareusingtheanaloginput,makesurethe3.5mmconnectorisfirmlyseatedintotheconnectorinputon
theactivespeakerandtheaudiosource.
• Ifyouareusingthe3.5mmtoRCA"Y"cable,makesurebothoftheRCAconnectorsareproperlyseated.
• Makesurethebalancecontrolonyoursourcedevice(likeyourcomputer)issettothemidpoint.
• Ifyouareusingtheanaloginput(3.5mmconnector)makesureyouarenotoverdrivingtheaudioinput.Turn
downthevolumeonyouraudiosourcedeviceand,ifnecessary,turnupthevolumeontheactivespeaker.
• Makesureyouarenotoverdrivingthespeakerdrivers.Turndownyouraudiosourcedevice.Youmaywantto
turndownthevolumeknobontheactivespeakeralso.
• Makesuretheaudiosourcesignalisprovidingacleansignal.
• Makesurethecablebetweentheaudiosourceandtheactivespeakerisproperlyseated.
• MakesuretheRCAcablebetweentheactivespeakersubwooferoutputandthesubwoofer'sinputareproperly
seated.
• Makesurethesubwooferispluggedinandswitchedon.
• Makesurethesubwoofervolumeisturnedup.
• Thisisusuallyanindicationthatoneofthemanyautomaticprotectioncircuitsisengagingtoprotectthe
speakersfrompermanentdamageasaresultofplayingthespeakerslouderthantheycansafelyplay.Turn
eithertheactivespeakervolumeortheaudiosourcevolumedownslightlyuntilthisstops.Ifyouneedtoplay
louderthantheT1Espeakersallow,youshouldconsideraddingasubwoofertoyoursystem.
• Ifyouareusingoneofthedigitalinputsthiscouldalsobeanindicationthatyourdigitalsignalisbeing
interrupted.Youmayconsiderchangingthedigitalcable.
• IfyouareusingtheBluetoothinputthiscouldbeanindicationthatyourBluetoothsendingdeviceisonthe
edgeofbeingoutofrange.
