7.1 Battery Replacement

When the display shows a flashing message "Bat", the
battery requires recharging. The battery may be replaced in
the field (in area known to be non-hazardous) if required. It
is recommended to recharge the MultiRAE PLUS monitor
upon returning from field work. A fully charged battery
powers a MultiRAE PLUS monitor for 10 hours continuous
operation. The charging time is less than 10 hours for a
fully discharged battery. The built-in charging circuit is
controlled by two -step constant voltage / constant current
charging to prevent over-charging.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of ignition of hazardous
atmospheres, recharge battery only in area known
to be non-hazardous. Remove and replace battery
only in area known to be non-hazardous.
