Defining a Policy

In a policy, you can define multiple class-behavior associations. A behavior is performed for the
associated class of packets. In this way, various QoS features can be implemented.
If a QoS policy contains multiple class-behavior associations, they are matched in the order they are
configured. Once a match is found, the match operation stops and the specific behavior is performed.
If no match is found after all associations are compared, the packet is considered a non-matched
packet.
Follow these steps to associate a class with a behavior in a policy:

in the policy
If an ACL is referenced by a QoS policy for defining traffic match criteria, packets matching the ACL
are organized as a class and the behavior defined in the QoS policy applies to the class regardless of
whether the match mode of the if-match clause is deny or permit.

Applying the QoS Policy

You can apply a QoS policy to different occasions:
Applied to an interface, the policy takes effect on the traffic sent or received on the interface.
Applied to a user profile, the policy takes effect on the traffic sent or received by the online users
of the user profile.
Applied to a VLAN, the policy takes effect on the traffic sent or received on all ports in the VLAN.
