5.
Wet sanding is most often used with metal or paint finishes. The purpose of
the water is to flow removed material away from the cutting surface, and to
keep the sanding disc and cutting surface cool. CAUTION: Allowing the work
surface to become dry while sanding will cause the sanding disc to clog up,
and possibly buckle. The work surface may overheat, causing the paint or
metal to burn, discolor or soften.
6.
Keep your sanding disc clean during the sanding process. The water flow
helps with this, but you may also occasionally scrub the sanding disc surface
with a soft bristle brush, using plenty of water. Keep the work surface wet
during sanding. If the surface is not wet, increase water flow by adjusting the
water valve at the source.
7.
When sanding, keep the sanding disc moving over the work surface. Do not
stay in one place too long, as this may burn or mark the surface in that area.
Skill is required to successfully wet sand, and you should practice on scrap
material before attempting a critical task.
8.
When sanding a large area, it is usually a good idea to work from the edges in
toward the center. This will prevent oversanding of the edges.
1.
Your Wet Angle Sander Polisher should be kept clean, dry and protected from
corrosion or damage.
2.
When not in use, store your tool out of the reach of children. Do not allow it to
be exposed to water, corrosive materials, or undue banging around.
3.
If you are not using an in-line oiler, you should inject a few drops of pneumatic
oil into the air inlet of the tool after every hour of continuous use.
4.
If your tool loses power, or you notice air leaks, take it to a certified technician
for service.
