1.7 Temporal Filter
The EV3000-D IR camera has an adaptive Temporal Filter that can be turned on for improved image
clarity. The adaptive Temporal Filter removes noise from the image to improve the image resolution
and extend the detection range. The custom Temporal Filter algorithm achieves this function without
blurring fast moving objects within the image.
The results of the adaptive Temporal Filter are shown in Figure 1.7-1 and 1.7-2. The image on the left
(Figure 1.7-1) shows the original image with significant noise. The picture on the right (Figure 1.7-2)
shows the effect of the temporal Filter which has removed the noise in the image. The improved image
will clearly offer improved detection ranges.
