WARNING: Ensuring Adequate Ventilation
In order to prevent accidental touching of the hot area underneath the hob, and to prevent the risk of
electric shock, install a wooden isolation plate with screws, at least 50mm underneath the base of the
hob, unless the hob is installed directly over an oven. See the diagram below.
There are ventilation holes around outside of the hob. YOU MUST ensure these holes are not
blocked by the worktop when you put the hob into position.
Please be aware that any adhesives in the construction of the adjacent kitchen units and work-
tops, have to be able to withstand temperatures of at least 150°C to prevent deformation and
panels becoming unstuck.
The rear wall behind the hob and surrounding kitchen surfaces must be able to withstand a tem-
perature of at least 90°C.
