Digital
anti-shock
function
This function uses a semiconductor memory
to prevent the sound from skipping even
when the unit is subjected to shocks and
vibration during play,
When the
/11 button is pressed frist time,
"20-SEC" appears on the display and the
anti-shock
function
turns on. The data
equivalent to approximately
20 seconds of
music is stored in a "read-ahead
memory
buffer before it is decoded and played. The
display changes from 'L J' to "s
that data
has been stored.

- When the unit is subjected
to a shock
during play, and the pickup cannot read
the data, the data stored
in memory
continues
to be decoded
and played.
This gives the pickup time to stabilize
and continue reading new data. At that
time, the indication
changes to "~"
or
"L J".
Once the pickup returns to its original
position,
new data
is stored
in the
memory,
and the indication
changes
back to "~".
- If the unit is subjected to repeated shocks
and all the data stored in the memory is
used up, "L J' is displayed and the sound
will skip.
Press the ANTI-SHOCK
button to turn the
anti-shock function off. "L J" disappears.
Press the button again to turn it on,
- Keep the anti-shock
function off when
using the unit in a stable location where
it will not receive shocks. The battery
power consumption
is less than when it
is on.
Note:
When the anti-shock function is switched
on or off, the sound will be interrupted for 1
-2 seconds. This is normal.
