Step #5
It is very important that sufficient
screws are used to secure the brackets
to the wall, and to support the whole
mantel.
Carefully slide the hearth into position,
centering it on the fireplace. If there is
any rocking of the hearth on the floor
whatsoever cracking will result. If this is
the case, then the hearth must be set into
a bed of thinset in order to eliminate the
movement in the hearth. Put a couple of
small
pencil
marks
indicating its final position, then remove
the hearth.

Secure the two 'L' foot brackets now to
the floor. These now lock the bottom of
the bracket frame into position. When
the brackets are properly positioned and
secured, a sturdy frame is created upon
which the stone mantel may be hung.
NOTE- Failure to ensure that these
brackets are firmly secured to the wall
risks that the mantel could fall off the
wall, resulting in serious injury!
Step #6
Note: The gloves are supplied for the
installers to insure a clean installation.
These
help
required after the install is complete.
There must be no rocking in the hearth
whatsoever, or cracking will result. If the
floor is not completely level, then glue
the
hearth
appropriate cement based adhesive.
