Troubleshooting

Symptom
Pump does not run when water flows in
from sink.
Pump runs, but does not empty sink.
Pump cycles on and off when no water is
in the sink.
Pump cycles on and off when the sink is at
maximum water flow or is full.

Possible Cause(s)
Pump unplugged.
Outlet unpowered.
Pump impeller jammed.
Sink stopper in drain.
Drain clogged.
Clogged discharge line.
Shut-off valve closed.
System discharge line too high or too long.
Check valve installed backwards.
Check valve not installed.
Check valve jammed.
Shut-off valve not adjusted.
Shut-off valve not installed.

Part Description
Repair Kit PS20-137REP includes:

Diaphragm Switch
2
Impeller
3
Gasket
Corrective Action
Plug pump into outlet.
Check fuse / breaker.
Unplug pump; follow procedure under Maintenance to clear pump.
Remove stopper.
Clear drain screen.
Unplug pump, open and clear discharge line.
Open shut-off valve slightly.
Unplug pump and reduce height or length of discharge line (11'
max. height).
Make sure flow arrow on check valve points away from pump.
Unplug pump and install check valve (see Figures 2 and 3).
Unplug pump; open discharge line and clean check valve.

Unplug pump and install shut-off valve (see Figures 2 and 3).
