Step
Slide the con tactor forward approximately four ( 4)
inches un til the slide safety stop engages in the plate
that is attached to the bottom of the con tactor. The
safety stop is located on the left side of the contactor
mounting track. Figure 21 shows the safe ty stop for
a stationary con tactor with the con tactor removed
for clarity.
In the next step to remove the contactor
CAUTION:
from the enclosure, be aware that the contactor
weighs 75 pounds and should be handled very care­
fully & deliberately using both hands. Do not grasp
the contactor by the top moving armature.

platform lift jack is available from GE that can be
used to aid in contactor removal and transport. Order cata­
log No. 55B534913Pl.

Step
To completely remove the contactor from the
enclosure, pull up on the safety stop and move the
contactor forward about one ( 1) inch . Then release
the safety stop and grasp the contactor with both
hands and m ove it forward and out of the enclosure.
Do not grasp the contactor by the top
movin g armature.
