How to Understand Error Codes

When the MCI detects an internal error, its LEDs blink amber in a specific blink pattern
when you apply the read key. If there is an internal error, the MCI cannot perform any
other function. If the amber LEDs continue to display, contact your SKF representative to
have the MCI sensor replaced.
Error Description
Low battery
The MCI can no longer perform any functions and
must be replaced.
Sensor error
The accelerometer or the charge amplifier has
failed. The MCI must be replaced.
Internal temperature out of range
-20 to 85 ˚C (-4 to 185 ˚F)
If possible, relocate the MCI to a cooler location.
Once the MCI detects a valid operating
temperature, it returns to its normal state and
begins taking measurements again.
Calibration error
The calibration stored in the MCI's memory is not
valid. The MCI must be replaced or returned to
the factory for re-calibration. Normally, the
calibration is performed at the factory and is valid
for the MCI's 3 year life.
