The A714 also includes a Slow Down mode which prevents damage to the printer by reducing print speed during long periods of continuous printing. The printed automatically returns to normal speed when usage returns to normal. Do not cycle or reset the printer while it is in Slow Down mode or damage may result.

    Chapter 3: Diagnostics A714 Owner’s Guide Printer Setup Mode Printer Setup Mode Once the printer has completed the configuration report, you have the opportunity to use Printer Setup Mode to change the configuration parameters. The following table lists the parameters available for each option. Depending on the printer emulation you choose, some parameters may not be available.

    Chapter 4: When Something Goes Wrong Chapter 4: When Something Goes Wrong The A714 printer is a simple, generally trouble-free printer, but from time to time minor problems may occur. For example, the power supply may be interrupted or the paper may jam.

    In order for the printer to communicate with the host computer, a communication link must be set up. The A714 supports the industry standard RS-232C communication interface. This interface has a protocol associated with it that the host computer must understand and adhere to.
