PROCEDURE 12
Bearing Play Adjustment (FIGURE 6)
NOTE: Refer to the SAFETY INSPECTION CHECKLIST
to determine how often bearing play adjustment is nec-
essary.

NOTE: This adjustment is required only if there is some
play in the hand crank in a SIDE TO SIDE motion.

NOTE: There will be some play in a forward/rearward

motion.

1. Slightly tighten self-locking nut on the left side (sitting

in the handcycle) of the hand crank. DO NOT over-
I
tighten.

NOTE: Overtightening the self-locking nut will cause the
N
gears to engage improperly after shifting.

Adjusting Gear Shift Push Button (FIGURE 7)
WARNING
Incorrect adjustment of gear shift push button
may reult in a failure of the coaster brake, pos-
sibly causing injury and or damage.
1. Loosen, but do not remove the allen set screw in
the middle of the gear shift push button.
2. Turn in the gear shift push button approximately two
(2) revolutions.
3. Push the gear shift push button IN.
4. Move the hand crank slightly until the switch posi-
tion engages audibly.
5. Turn the gear shift push button until it is flush with
the hand crank.
NOTE: Make sure there is some play underneath the
button.
6. Securely tighten the allen set screw in the middle
of the gear shift push button.
