Atmospheric pollution
Do not install the SINAMICS G120 Power Module in an environment which contains
atmospheric pollutants such as dust and/or corrosive gases.
Water
Take care to site the SINAMICS G120 Power Module away from potential water hazards, for
example, do not install the SINAMICS G120 Power Module beneath pipes that are subject to
condensation. Avoid installing the SINAMICS G120 Power Module where excessive humidity
and condensation may occur.
Installation and cooling
Caution
The SINAMICS G120 Power Module MUST NOT be mounted horizontally.
When mounting SINAMICS G120 Power Modules one above the other, the specified
environmental conditions and clearance must not be exceeded (see Dimension Drawings)
Independent of this, the minimum distance above and below the SINAMICS G120 Power
Modules is 100 mm (3.9 inches).
No equipment that could have a negative effect on the flow of cooling air should be installed
in this area. Make sure that the cooling vents in the SINAMICS G120 Power Module are
positioned correctly to allow the free movement of air.
Make sure that there is an adequate airflow through the cubicle as follows:
