Unless otherwise stated, these instructions apply to both the RGB-DVI 300 and the
RGB-HDMI 300 video scalers/converters. These instructions provide a quick setup guide for
experienced installers.
Step 1
Turn all the equipment off and disconnect all cables.
Step 2
Mount the unit in a convenient location, in a rack, behind a display, under a desk, or through a
desk.
Step 3
Connect an analog RGB or HDTV YUV video input to the 15-pin female VGA connector.
Step 4
Connect the unit to a digital display using a HDMI connector (RGB-HDMI 300) or a DVI-I
connector (RGB-DVI 300).
N The RGB-DVI 300 only outputs a DVI-D signal, although a DVI-I connector is used for
greater installation flexibility.
A display is required to control the RGB-DVI 300 or RGB-HDMI 300 using the menu and
on-screen display.
Step 5
Connect the 12 VDC external power supply (provided) to the 3.5 mm, two-pole, captive screw
Power input connector.
Step 6
Apply power to the RGB-DVI 300's or RGB-HDMI 300's power supply, power on the display,
and power on the video source.
Step 7
Configure the system via the front panel controls and on-screen display, SIS commands, or the
Signal Processing Products Control Program, as shown on the following page.
If no video output is visible on the display, the scaler's output rate can be toggled between

1024 x 768 at 60 Hz and 720p at 60 Hz, without needing the on-screen menu. Hold the
Menu button while applying power and the output rate is set to 1024 x 768 at 60 Hz during
the first power on cycle. Hold the Menu button while applying power a second time and the
output rate is set to 720p at 60 Hz.
