Receiving Automatically in Fax Mode
Your machine is preset to Fax mode at the factory. If you have changed the
receiving mode, take the following steps to receive faxes automatically:
1 Press Receive Mode,
2 Press and hold Receive Mode until "Fax" displays on the bottom line,
You may have to repeat this action once or twice depending on the
mode you're in,
3 When you receive a fax, the machine answers the call on a specified
number of rings and automatieally receives the fax,
To change the number of rings, see page 1.20,
Receiving Manually in Tel Mode
You can answer calls using the handset or the On Hook Dial button,
i Press Receive Mode,
2 Press and hold Receive Mode until "Tel" displays on the bottom line,
You may have to repeat this action once or twice depending on the
mode you're in.
3 When you receive a fax caIl, pick up the handset or press On Hook
Dial.
You can hear a fax tone or voice from the remote machine.
4 Press Start Copy/Fax to receive the fax.
The machine begins receiving a fax and returns to Standby Node when
the reception is completed.
Receiving Automatically in Ans/Fax Mode
For using this mode, you must attach an answering machine to the EXTjack
on the back of your machine. See page 1.11.

Press and hold Receive Mode until "Ans/Fax" displays on the bottom
Iine.
You may have to repeat this action once or twice depending on the
mode you're in.
3 When you receive a call, the answering machine answers.
If the caller leaves a message, the answering machine stores the
message as it would normally. If your machine hears a fax tone on the
Iine, it automatically starts to receive the fax.
