THROUGH WATER

WARNING
Vehicle operation through water is not recommended and should be avoided.
Precautions when driving through water is unavoidable:
• Decrease the vehicle speed.
• Use extreme caution.
• Do not drive through water that is more than 3 inches (7.62 cm) high.

Hauling cargo incorrectly can change the vehicles handling and may cause loss of control or brake
instability, which can cause serious injury or death.
Precautions when operating with cargo:
• Always read and understand the load distribution warnings listed on the safety labels. The total
load (operator, passenger, accessories, cargo and weight on hitch) must not exceed the
maximum weight capacity of the vehicle. Do not exceed the published capacities.
• Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of the vehicle. When determining added weight to
the vehicle, include the weight of the operator, passenger, accessories, loads in the rack or box
and the load on the trailer tongue. The combined weight of these items must not exceed the
maximum weight capacity.
• Keep the heavy end of the vehicle uphill.
• Always load the cargo box with the load as far forward and as low as possible.
• Always operate the vehicle with extreme caution when hauling or towing loads.
• Secure all loads before operating. Unsecured loads can cause unstable operating conditions,
which could cause loss of vehicle control.
• Operate only with stable and safely arranged loads. When handling off-centered loads that
cannot be centered, correctly fasten the load and operate with extra caution. Always attach the
tow load to the hitch point designated for the vehicle.

PERFORMANCE. AFTER DRIVING THROUGH WATER, LIGHTLY
PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL TO CHECK THE BRAKE PERFORMANCE.
IF THE VEHICLE SPEED DOES NOT DECREASE AT A NORMAL RATE,
CONTINUE TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL THE BRAKE
PERFORMANCE IS BACK TO NORMAL.
BEFORE A LOAD IS PUT IN THE VEHICLE, ENGAGE PARK BRAKE
TO LOCK THE WHEELS.
THE CARGO IN THE VEHICLE CAN MOVE AND AFFECT THE
HANDLING, STEERING, AND BRAKES. DO NOT HAVE TOP HEAVY
LOADS. SECURE THE CARGO. REDUCE THE SPEED OF THE
VEHICLE AND TURN SLOW.
A LOAD ON THE TAILGATE IN THE VERTICAL OR HORIZONTAL
POSITION CAN CAUSE PROPERTY DAMAGE. DO NOT PUT A LOAD
ON THE TAILGATE. CLOSE THE TAILGATE WHILE THE VEHICLE
OPERATES.
