VEHICLE MOVEMENT

OVERVIEW

Operate the vehicle only after you read, understand, and know:
• The Driving Instructions
• Indicators
• Gauges
• Displays
• Controls

ENGINE START

Before engine start:
• Read and obey all safety decals and information located on the vehicle.
• Understand how to operate the vehicle correctly and safely.
• Understand the function of all vehicle controls, indicators, displays, and gauges.
Make sure that all passengers are seated and use the hand holds or handrails. The operator
must have both hands on the steering wheel.
• Front wheels are turned in the direction of travel.
• No obstructions are in the vehicle's path.
• Forward / Neutral / Reverse control (FNR) is set to N.
• The park brake is set.
• The accelerator pedal is not pushed.
• The vehicle is at a full stop.
To start the engine:
1.
Put the key into the key switch.

On pedal-start vehicles:

MONOXIDE. DO NOT OPERATE THE ENGINE IN AN ENCLOSED
AREA WITHOUT CORRECT VENTILATION.
MOVING PARTS CAN CRUSH AND CUT. KEEP CLEAR OF THE
ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHILE THE ENGINE IS ON.
TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND AGAIN WITH AN
EMPTY FUEL TANK WILL CAUSE FUEL PUMP DAMAGE. DO NOT
TRY TO START A VEHICLE WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. MAKE
SURE THAT THERE IS FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK BEFORE VEHICLE
OPERATION.
