8.16. The Device Settings tab

The upper right-hand corner of the MCC has a tab labeled Device Settings. This is where you
find the Global settings for the KeyLab mkII. There are multiple sections on this page, each
with two or more settings. Let's take a closer look at what each parameter does.

8.16.1. Global Parameter section

Low Power Mode: When this parameter is set to On it disables the power-up light

sequence and Vegas mode.
Vegas Mode: When KeyLab mkII is left idle and untouched for around 5 minutes,
•
it will begin an eye-catching, colorful light show. You can choose to enable or
disable Vegas Mode by setting this parameter On or Off.
User Fader Mode: This setting changes how KeyLab mkII's faders react in User
•
mode. The two settings are:

8.16.2. DAW section

DAW Map: This lets you use the MCC to select which DAW preset your KeyLab
•
mkII will use. The complete list of presets is found
DAW Fader Mode: This setting changes how KeyLab mkII's faders react within
•
your recording software. The two modes available are:

8.16.3. Analog Lab section

Key Velocity Curve: Determines the velocity curve that is used in Analog Lab
•
mode. Three settings are available: Linear (Lin), Logarithmic (Log), or Exponential
(Exp).
Sustain Pedal Mode: This specifies whether the sustain pedal input will be used
•
as a Switched Control or a continuous Control.

Pickup: the faders in your User preset will not generate new values
◦
until they match the last value they transmitted. This is important
when you're dealing with 3 banks of faders: if you switch from bank
1 to bank 2, move some faders, and then come back to bank 1, you
may not want the values of the parameters being controlled by the
bank 1 faders to jump suddenly.
Jump: the faders in your User preset will generate new values as

soon as they are moved, regardless of the values they sent
previously.
Pickup: the fader in your DAW will not move untill the fader position
◦
on your controller crosses the current DAW fader position.
Jump: the fader in your DAW will jump immediately to the current
◦
position of the fader on your controller as soon as it is moved, and
follow its movement from there.
