Icemaker E-module - Optical diagnostic
The service diagnostics mode only checks the functionality of the optics. To enter this mode,
turn E-module (Ice-Maker) OFF by means the User Interface Ice-Maker ON/OFF push-button,
then ON again; open the freezer door and look at the diagnostic GREEN LED hidden behind
E-module (Ice-Maker) service door.

RESULT
No LED pulses.
LED solid ON
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Dirt on optics.
Frost on optics lenses.
Failed optics.
E-module (Ice maker) is
in 5 minutes "harvest"
cycle.
Incorrect wiring at E-
module (Ice-Maker),
emitter or receiver
board.
No power to E-module
(Ice-Maker).
E-module (Ice-Maker)
powered with blades at
home position and
waiting for next harvest.
CORRECTIVE
ACTION
Clean dirt from optics.
Clean frost from lenses.
Replace emitter and
receiver boards and
retest.
To verify, look at the
blades, they should
turning to reach the
home position. If not,
replace E-module (Ice-
Maker).
Correct wiring and re-
test.
Replace E-module (Ice-
Maker) and re-test.
Everything is OK. No
corrective actions are
necessary.
