2. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Read and understand these instructions before use. Keep these instructions for future reference. Do not disassemble this product or attempt to repair it yourself. No user serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. This product should only be powered by 1 x 3.7V ½ AA size Lithium Thionyl Chloride battery. Under no circumstances should this product be powered from another power source. Insert the battery in accordance with the polarity symbol inside the battery holder. Only use manufacturer approved ½ AA size 3.7V battery as identified in this manual. Do not expose to direct sunlight. Do not submerge in water and do not use in damp or humid conditions. Do not expose to dripping or splashing water. As with any electronic equipment take care not to spill liquids into any part of the system. Liquids can cause a failure and/or a fire hazard. Do not drop or expose to high vibration or shock. Clean with a hard‐surface disinfectant wipe or a damp cloth and a non‐abrasive cleaning product. Polish with a dry duster. DO NOT use a wet cloth. Avoid using harsh, abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents or detergents (e.g. scouring powders, bleaches, polishes, etc.) when cleaning this product. 6. STAFF ID SETUP You can assign each staff members name to their Buddy ID in the Master Nursecall Panel. This means the staff members name will be recorded in the system log alongside each event they’ve dealt with. On the Master Panel, touch the Log On button and an “Enter Password” box will appear on the screen as shown alongside… Touch the symbol and choose the Manager Log On option from the pull down box. Enter the required password (4 digits) using the keypad and touch the Log On button in the bottom left hand corner of the keypad. 7. NURSE PRESENT OPERATION On a routine visit; press the Green Present button on your Buddy ‐ the red LED on the Call Point will flash once and the unit will beep once. This will notify Nurse Present on the Nursecall panel. Or, if you are responding to a call; press the Green Present button on your Buddy ‐ the red LED on the Call Point will go out and the beep will stop. This will notify Nurse Present on the Nursecall panel. 8. ASSISTANCE CALL OPERATION After pressing the Green button to register Nurse Present you can press the Orange Nurse Call button to request Assistance. After a short delay the Red LED will start to flash on the Call Point and the unit will beep to indicate the call has been received on the Nursecall panel. the battery performance if left for long periods and there may be several months of battery life remaining. When the low battery warning starts the battery will continue to function for a short period but always arrange for its replacement as soon as possible. To replace the battery, remove the screw from the rear of the Buddy and carefully remove the top cover. Note: the lid will remain attached on the keypad tail. Remove the battery from its holder on the PCB inside the Buddy base. Note: Buddy programming is retained when the battery is removed/replaced. Used batteries must not be disposed of in domestic waste.
