The manual does not provide instructions for changing the battery in a Sensus iPERL. However, it does mention that the battery icon will turn on when the battery is low or the meter is near the end of its life. The iPERL system is designed as a sealed unit, meaning the battery is not user-replaceable. If the battery is low, you may need to contact Sensus or your utility provider for further assistance.

my sensus iperl water meter was installed upside down, with heat tape wrap around the top where the digital reader is to prevent freeze up, could this affect the accuracy of the meter ?

The Sensus iPERL water meter uses electromagnetic technology, which allows it to be installed in any orientation without affecting its accuracy. Therefore, installing it upside down should not impact its performance. However, wrapping heat tape around the digital reader could potentially interfere with the electronic components, display visibility, or long-term durability. It is recommended to follow the manufacturer's installation guidelines to ensure proper operation.
