HYBRID SYSTEM OPERATION WHILE
DRIVING
a ) Check hybrid system performance over a broad range
of driving conditions including acceleration, cruising and
deceleration.
b ) Make sure hybrid system operation is smooth and
responsive.
c ) Make sure the gauges, speedometer and Hybrid System
Indicator operations are smooth and accurate.

ELECTRIC COOLING FANS

a ) Check that the engine cooling fans rotate smoothly.
CAUTION:
The engine cooling fans are controlled depending on engine
coolant temperature. Do not touch the fans when the engine
is hot.
b ) Turn the air conditioning on and build up sufficient
pressure. Check that the electric cooling fans turn on
and rotate smoothly.
CAUTION:
The electric cooling fans are controlled depending on air
conditioning refrigerant pressure. Do not touch the fans
when the "A/C" switch is turned on.
BRAKE AND PARKING BRAKE
a ) Check braking effort. Check for pull or any abnormal
noise.
b ) Check the parking brake:
With the "POWER" switch in the ON mode, check that
the brake warning light comes on when the parking
brake is applied (and goes off when it is released).
c ) Inspect Parking Brake Pedal Travel
1. Fully depress the parking brake pedal to engage the
parking brake.
2. Depress the pedal again to disengage the parking
brake.
3. Slowly depress the parking brake pedal using the
specified force, and count the number of clicks.
Parking brake pedal travel:
7 to 11 notches at 300 N (30.6 kgf, 67.5 lbf)
If parking brake pedal travel is not as specified, adjust the
parking brake shoe clearance and parking brake pedal
travel.
