7.8 Fan speed control circuit
The fan speeds are controlled by triac IC07. This allows the fan
to operate at any one of 16 speeds. This function only
occurs when the unit is in the cooling mode, zero waves
equates to fan stop.

7.9 Lightning surge protection circuit
The circuit on the right, protects the PCB from damage caused
by a lightning surge. Varistors are connected
between the live and neutral and live and earth lines to pro-
tect against voltage surges.
