5.2

Check for leaks

Conduct a leak test of the boiler block only when the
boiler was delivered disassembled.
5.2.1

Preparing for a leak test).

B Close all boiler hubs (
B Close front and back connections (fit vent to the Rp¾
connection block;
5.2.2

Leak test

CAUTION: System damage due to
overpressure.
B Ensure that no pressure, control or safety
equipment is fitted.
Please note the rating plate details. Use a
pressure gauge class 1.0 for the pressure
test.
Carry out the leak test with a test pressure of 84 psi
(5,8 bar) (in accordance with the requirements of the
European Pressure Vessel Directive).
B Slowly fill the boiler block via the boiler fill & drain
valve. Vent at the highest point of the system, until
water flows out of the air vent valve.
If hub joints are leaking:
B Drain the water through the boiler fill & drain valve.
B Remove the water pipes.

B Remove the distribution tube.
B Release and remove the anchor rods.
B Separate the leaking boiler by driving flat wedges or
chisels into the leaking part.

B Clean the hubs before reassembly.
Use new nipples and new sealing rope for
the reassembly.
B Compress the boiler block again.
B Fit the anchor rods and feed pipe.
B Install the water pipework.
B Repeat the leak test.
For subsequent installation of the boiler see
( Chapter 5.3, page 24).
5.3 Installation when the boiler is
supplied assembled
WARNING: Danger to life due to falling
material.
B Ensure that a suitable means of
supporting the load is available.
B Observe all locally applicable
Occupational Health & Safety regulations
regarding lifting equipment.
A leak test of the boiler block is carried out at the factory
when the boiler is supplied assembled.
B Cut through the stapes.
B Remove the pallet prior to positioning the boiler
block.
