PROBLEM
Compressor short cycles.
Compressor runs too much.

CAUSE
Erratic control thermostat.
Faulty relay.
Restricted air flow over condenser.
Low voltage ... fluctuation exceeds ± 10%
of 115 vac (104-127).
Compressor draws excessive watts.
Inoperative condenser fan motor.
Control thermostat is erratic or not
properly set.
Refrigerator exposed to high heat. (110°
or higher)
High room temperature.
(110° F or higher)
Low pumping capacity compressor.
Door gaskets not sealing.
System undercharged.
System overcharged.
Interior light stays on.
Contaminants in system.
Capillary
tube
kinked
restricted.
Filter drier partially restricted.
Refrigerator and/or freezer compartment
overloaded ... poor air circulation
Restricted air flow over condenser.
Condenser fan motor is inoperative.
(Forced air condenser models only)
Tubing vibrates.
Internal compressor noise.
Loose parts.
Compressor
operating

Replace control thermostat.
Replace relay or starter.
Ensure air flow is unobstructed over
condenser.
Call qualified electrician.
Replace compressor.
Replace condenser fan motor.
Replace control thermostat or reset to
normal position.
Move refrigerator to cooler location.
Advise customer not to install refrigerator
where temperature will rise above 110°F
because compressor will not maintain
proper temperatures.
Replace compressor.
Adjust doors or replace door gaskets.
Check for leaks. *
Charge per listing on product serial plate. *
Check door switch and door adjustment.
Flush out system. Replace filter drier,
evacuate, and recharge. *
