Specifying the MST Name

You configure a region name on the bridge. For two or more bridges to be in the same MST region, they must
have the identical MST name, VLAN-to-instance mapping, and MST revision number.

Purpose
• MST revision number
• Synchronize primary and secondary VLANs in private
VLANs
Exits or aborts.
• The exit command commits all the changes and exits MST
configuration mode.
• The abort command exits the MST configuration mode
without committing any of the changes.
(Optional)
Returns the MST region configuration to the following default
values:
• The region name is an empty string.
• No VLANs are mapped to any MST instance (all VLANs
are mapped to the CIST instance).
• The revision number is 0.
Purpose
Enters global configuration mode.
Enters MST configuration submode.
Specifies the name for MST region. The name string
has a maximum length of 32 case-sensitive
characters. The default is an empty string.
