Pressing the Time Code Key
Press the TC key once will open the time code menu.
•
Press the TC key a second time will open the on screen TC slate.
•
Manually entering time code and user bits
Tap on either the ENTER TIME CODE key / ENTER USER BITS key or tap on the
GENERATOR TC / GENERATOR UB keys to open a numeric keyboard where the time
code / user bits can be entered.
Setting the TC out and TC display source
These keys sets what time code source Deva 24 will output from the time code out
BNC connector, and what time code source will be displayed on the screen.
GENERATOR - The time code will originate from Deva's internal time code
•
generator.
CARD - The time code will originate from the file that is being recorded or playing
•
back.
GEN-STOP - Only for time code display - When Deva24 is recording the time code
•
displayed will be from the internal timecode generator, but the time code displayed
will freeze on the stopped point when the transport is stopped.
Setting the TC mode
FREE-RUN - Time code will free run continuously.
•
REC-RUN - Time code will start to run when Deva 24 begins to record and will stop
•
when recording stops.
CJAM TC/UB - Time code and user bits are continuously updated from a connected
•
external source and not Deva's internal time code generator.
CJAM TC - Time code only is continuously updated from a connected external
•
source and not Deva's internal time code generator.
CJAM UB - User bits only are continuously updated from a connected external
•
source.
Setting the TC Frame Rate
Tapping on the FRAME RATE key will cycle through the time code frame-rates.
Deva 24 supports all standard SMPTE frame-rates: 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 29.97DF, 30,
30DF
Enabling increment user bits
If the incremental user-bits is set to ON the user bits will automatically increase with
each take to the next number or letter.
