MONITOR / RING / TALK Switch (see Figure 3)
1. Data Safe MONITOR Mode:
In MONITOR mode, the talk set presents a high impedance to the
telephone line. This means it does not significantly load the telephone
line, and will not disrupt conversations, data, or signaling. However,
any audio on the telephone line can be heard through the talk set's
earpiece.
2.RING Mode:
In RING mode, an electronic ringer is connected to the telephone
line. This is often called an 'on-hook' condition. The talk set will
respond to any incoming phone call by sounding its electronic ringer.
3.TALK Mode:
To answer a call, seize the line, or initiate signaling, switch to TALK
mode. If dialing select the PULSE or TONE mode, whichever is
appropriate. To terminate a call, release the line by switching to
RING or MONITOR Mode.
