OPERATING YOUR BREVILLE PRODUCT

BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove and safely discard any packaging
material or promotional labels attached to
your kettle. It is recommended that before
first use to fill the kettle to the maximum
level with cold tap water, bring to the boil by
selecting the BOIL 212° button, then discard
the water. Your kettle will only operate when
positioned on the power base. The kettle will
automatically switch off when the water has
reached the selected temperature.
OPERATION OF YOUR KETTLE
1. To fill the kettle, remove the kettle from
the power base and open the lid by
pressing the lid release button. Fill with
the desired amount of water.
NOTE
Always fill the kettle between the
minimum (MIN) and maximum
(MAX) marks on the water window.
Too little water will result in the kettle
switching off before the water has
boiled. Filling above the maximum
(MAX) mark may result in boiling
water splashing from the kettle.
2. Ensure the lid is closed and locked
firmly into place. Position the kettle
securely onto the power base. Insert
the power plug into a 110/120V power
outlet. The START|CANCEL and 212°F
BOIL buttons will illuminate white and
a beep will sound. The START|CANCEL
button will automatically switch off after
one minute if not selected.
WARNING
This appliance is designed for boiling
or heating drinking quality water only.
Never use it to heat or boil any other
liquids or food stuffs. Never insert tea
or coffee into the kettle. The lid should
always be locked securely into the
closed position before use.
3. Select the desired water temperature
by pressing one of the five temperature
buttons. The selected button will
illuminate white.
NOTE
If a temperature button is not selected
and the START|CANCEL button is
pressed, the kettle will start heating
water to the default 212°F or the last
selected temperature.
NOTE
The KEEP WARM function can
be selected before, during or on
completion of the water heating cycle
(refer page 15).
4. Press the START|CANCEL button.
It will illuminate red and the kettle will
start heating. Do not remove the kettle
from the power base during operation.
WARNING
Use the handle for lifting and carrying
the kettle as the jug surface may be hot.
