Ensure the kettle has switched off
before removing from the power base.

If the KEEP WARM function has been

7.
If further heating of the kettle is not
required, unplug the power cord and
empty the water from the kettle. Replace
the kettle onto the power base and close
the lid.
NOTE
Through regular use over time, scale
build-up in the kettle can affect the
performance and the life of the kettle.
Lime and phosphate are common
forms of scale that can damage your
kettle.
Lime scale, a harmless mineral, comes
in the appearance of white-colored or
rusty looking build up on the inner
floor of the kettle.
Phosphate scale can't be seen,
however, it can cause the water to
appear cloudy when heated.
To prevent scale from damaging
your kettle, ensure that the kettle is
descaled regularly – refer to Care and
Cleaning (page 17). To avoid scale
build-up, empty the kettle after use
and do not allow water to stand in the
kettle overnight.

NOTE
The default temperature setting of the
kettle when switched on is 212°F.
When the kettle is unplugged at the
power outlet and plugged back in, it
will automatically default to 212°F.
When the kettle remains plugged
in at the power outlet and different
temperature settings have been
selected, the kettle will default to the
last selected temperature setting.
WARNING
Do not open the lid during and after
operation. This may result in hot water
splashing from the kettle. Pour all
the hot water from the kettle before
opening the lid to refill.
NOTE
This kettle must be used only with
the power base supplied. Use caution
when pouring water from your kettle,
as hot water and steam will scald. Do
not pour the water too quickly.

KEEP WARM FUNCTION
The KEEP WARM function can be used
before, during or on completion of the water
heating cycle. When the water has reached
the selected temperature, the KEEP WARM
function will hold the selected temperature
for 20 minutes. If the 212°F button is
selected when using the KEEP WARM
function, the boiled water will remain at
approximately 200°F for 20 minutes.
To activate the KEEP WARM function,
press the desired temperature button. Then
press the KEEP WARM button, followed by
the START|CANCEL button to commence
heating the water.
Alternatively, the KEEP WARM button can
be activated at any time during the heating
cycle and/or within one minute after the
heating cycle has completed.
If the kettle is removed from the power base
during the KEEP WARM function the kettle
will automatically switch off.
NOTE
If the temperature is changed during
the KEEP WARM function, the
START|CANCEL button will illuminate.
SAFETY BOIL DRY PROTECTION
The kettle is fitted with a safety device
which protects against overheating should
the appliance be operated with insufficient
water. If this occurs, the kettle will stop
heating.
Press the START|CANCEL button and
allow the kettle to cool for approximately
5-10mins before refilling between the
minimum (MIN) and maximum (MAX)
marks on the water window. The safety
device will automatically reset when the
kettle has cooled sufficiently.
Press the START|CANCEL button to
recommence heating. For additional safety
your kettle is also fitted with a thermal cut
out. In the event of severe overheating
the kettle will automatically shut down to
prevent further damage. Should this occur,
contact Breville Consumer Support.
