If the desired host has never been connected via a cable to another port in the disk array, skip to
step
8.

In the Port list on the upper right corner of the WWN table (Fibre Channel) or the iSCSI name table
(iSCSI environment), select the port to which the desired host is connected.

Select the desired host bus adapter from the WWN (or iSCSI Name) table.

Select a host group from the tree and click the Add WWN (or Add iSCSI Name) button. The Add New
WWN (Fibre Channel) or Add New iSCSI Name (iSCSI) dialog box appears.

To assign a nickname to the host bus adapter, enter the nickname in the Nickname box and click OK.
NOTE:
If two or more host bus adapters are selected, the Add New WWN (or Add New iSCSI)
dialog box displays repeatedly to let you assign a nickname to each selected HBA (see
and
Figure
18). If you do not need to assign nicknames to HBAs, enable the The remaining WWNs
(iSCSI Names) do not need names check box and click OK. If you select this option, the Add New
WWN (Add New iSCSI Name) dialog box will not prompt you for additional nicknames.
