CHANGING
A WHEEL
If it should become
necessary for
you to
change
a
wheel
on
your Falcon, first apply the parking brakes.
Then,
as an added
precaution
against
the
car
moving
while it's
on the
jack,
place a
large
stone or
block
under
the front and
rear
of one
wheel
The
spare
wheel and tire,
jack, and combination
wrench and
jack
handle are
stored
in the luggage
compartment of
the Sedan,
and
inside the
Station
Wagon
under the protective cover
beneath the right
rear
window.
In the Ranchero, you'll
find
them
behind the driver's seat.
'
Pry
off
the wheel
cover
with the
flat
end of the
wrench, and then
loosen
the wheel
nuts.
But
don't
remove
them
from the wheel yet. Position the jack
under the
bumper nea
r
the
wheel
to be
changed,
and in the
same
relative
location
as illustrated on
this
page. Flick the jack
control lever to its RAISE
position, and jack up the
ca
r
unti
l
the
wheel
to be
cha nged clears the
groun
d.
Replace the
wheel
and tighten
all
the nuts
evenly.
Then flic
k
the
jack
control
lever
downwa rd and
lower the
car
slowly to the
ground.
Check
all the
wheel nuts again to be sure they're tight, and then
press on the wheel
cover.
