Operable functions
Vehicles with COMAND: the Voice Control
System allows you to operate the following sys-
tems, depending on the equipment in your vehi-
cle:
Telephone
R
Navigation
R
Address book
R
Audio (radio, CD/DVD changer, CD/DVD
R
player, memory card, hard disk, Media Inter-
face, USB, Bluetooth
Video
R
Say the commands without pausing between
individual words. If you enter a non-existent
command, the Voice Control System responds
with:
Please repeat.
R
or
Please repeat your entry
R
The Voice Control System confirms when you
enter important commands and informs you
when you make an ambiguous entry.
You can terminate a voice dialog at any time by
saying the command Cancel or by pressing the
ñ button on the steering wheel.

Command types

A distinction is made between the following
types of command in the Voice Control System:
Global commands can be called up at any

time, e.g. the Help telephone or Help nav‐
igationcommand.
Local commands are only valid for the active
R
application, e.g. Next station, when radio is
on or Next track, when CD/DVD is active
Commands, which can be used in a dialog,
R
e.g. Yes or OK
You can operate more than one application at
the same time. When the navigation and radio
applications are active, for example, you can use
both applications simultaneously.

Entering numbers and spelling out
Entering numbers:
Digits from zero to nine are permissible.

Say phone numbers as blocks of digits with
R
three to five digits per block.
Spelling out:
The letters of the alphabet and the digits one
R
to nine are permissible.
Say the letters in a block of five to seven let-
R
ters.
Say each letter clearly.
R
Changing the language setting
You can change the Voice Control System lan-
guage by changing the system language. If the
set system language is not supported by the
Voice Control System, English will be selected.
The Voice Control System is available in English,
French and Spanish.
Select Vehicle in the main function bar.

The vehicle menu is displayed.
To select System Settings: slide 6, turn

and press the controller.
A menu appears.
To select Language: turn and press the con-

troller.
To select the desired language: turn and press
X
the controller.
The system language is set.
