TTY Interface
The Site Controller SCM has a simple TTY interface for provisioning and monitoring the device. Use the
following steps to start a TTY Interface session with your Site Controller SCM:
1. Connect a DB9 download cable from the Site Controller SCM's front panel craft port to a PC — see Figure
6.1.
2. You will need to use terminal emulation software, such as Windows™ HyperTerminal. To open
HyperTerminal, start from your Windows™ Start menu and go to Programs > Accessories >
Communications > HyperTerminal.
3. The Connection Description prompt will appear. Enter a description.
4. The Connect To prompt will appear. In the Connect Using field, select COM 1 from the drop-down menu.
5. The COM1 Properties Settings prompt will appear — see Figure 6.2. Your settings should be: 2400 baud, 8
bits, 1 stop bits, and None (Flow Control).
6. Press C to continue to the Site Controller SCM main menu interface.
