Recommended safety distances between portable and mobile RF devices
and the Lady-Comp
®
device
The Lady-Comp devices are intended for use in the electromagnetic environment specified below. The
customer or the user of the Lady-Comp device can prevent electromagnetic interference by maintaining
a minimum distance between portable and mobile RF devices (transmitters) and the Lady-Comp
depending on the output of the other RF device, such as specified below.

For transmitters not specified in the above table, the distance can be determined using the equation
based on the transmitter, where P is the power rating of the transmitter in watts (W) according to the
transmitter manufacturer.
Comment 1
For calculating the recommended minimum dis
tance of transmitters in the frequency range from
80MHz to 2.5 GHz, an additional factor of 10/3
800 MHz to 2.5 GHz,
was used to reduce the likelihood that a mobile/
d = 0.7√P
portable RF device inadvertently brought into
patient areas could result in a malfunction.
