Connecting the Residential Gateway
Perform the following steps to connect the residential gateway.
1
Insert a standard RJ-45 Ehternet cable (included) into the Internet port and
connect the other end to an xDSL, cable modem, or other Internet device.

Insert a standard RJ-11 telephone cable into the PHONE 1 port and connect the
other end to an analog touchtone telephone.
3
(Optional) You can connect the PHONE 2 port to a second analog telephone or a
fax machine.
Note: To prevent an invalid connection to the circuit switched Telco network, do
not connect an RJ-11 telephone cable from the PHONE 1 (or PHONE 2) port on
the residential gateway to the wall jack.
