6.2 Step 2: Configuring and downloading
The section below describes how to configure the SCALANCE S module with the Security
Configuration Tool starting from the factory settings.
Follow the steps below:
1. Start the supplied Security Configuration Tool configuration software.
2. Select the "Project" > "New..." menu command.
3. In the dialog that follows, create a new user with a user name and the corresponding
password. The "administrator" role is assigned to the user automatically. Confirm your
entries with "OK".
Result: A new project is created. The "Selection of a module or software configuration"
dialog opens.
4. Configure the product type, module and firmware release.
5. In the "Configuration" area, enter the MAC address in the required format.
The MAC address is printed on the front of the SCALANCE S module.
6. Enter the external IP address and the external subnet mask in the relevant boxes and
confirm the dialog with "OK".
Result: The module will then be displayed in the list of configured modules.
