    LEC-6021A User Manual Preparing the Hardware Installation Warning: To reduce the risk of personal injury, electric shock, or damage to the equipment, please make sure the device is totally powered off and without any power source connected. Turn the device around (facing the rear panel) and then turn it upside down.

    Chapter 4: Hardware Setup Installing the System Memory The motherboard comes with one DDR3 SO-DIMM socket. Please follow the steps below for installation. Align the memory module’s key with the SO-DIMM socket’s key. Install the SO-DIMM until firmly seated. Place the heat sink onto the memory module. Note: SO-DIMMs for installation should meet the required frequency which is 1066/1333 MHz for this system.

    LEC-6021A User Manual Installing a CompactFlash Card The system provides one CompactFlash slot. Follow the procedures below to install a CompactFlash card. Align CompactFlash and the card slot. Insert the CompactFlash into the connector until firmly seated. Note: The device has an error proof design so that the card will not be inserted if it is in the wrong orientation.

    Chapter 4: Hardware Setup Installing Heat-sinks The system comes with heat sink thermal solutions on the internal side of the top compartment. 1. Install the heat sinks onto the circled areas. 2. The heat sinks are provided as thermal solutions for SFP fiber I/O connectors, Super I/O chip, CF and other components on the main board.

    Chapter 4: Hardware Setup DIN Rail Mounting The system can be mounted via DIN Rail method with included DIN Rail kit. 1. Attach the DIN Rail kit to the rear of the system with 3 screws. 2. Hang the system onto a rail. Aim the hook of the kit into the DIN Rail until it is totally fixed. Note: After the unit is mounted, be sure to check that the installation provides strong and appropriate support and that each part is assembled correctly.

    LEC-6021A User Manual Wall-Mounting The system can be mounted via the provided wall mounting brackets and screws. 1. If the DIN Rail kit is already mounted on rear panel, remove it. 2. On both side panels of the unit, attach the brackets using the provided screws. Please note that there are two types of brackets: one with the two holes (for unit fixation) aligned with each other and the other with two unaligned holes.
  • Page 27 Appendix A: Programming Watchdog Timer A watchdog timer is a piece of hardware that can be used to automatically detect system anomalies and reset the processor in case there are any problems. Generally speaking, a watchdog timer is based on a counter that counts down from an initial value to zero.
