    SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS WARNING Make sure that the voltage set is suitable for the instrument (the voltage is indicated next to the AC power inlet). When using electric products, always follow basic precautions, including the following: Read all of these instructions before using the product. To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when the product is used near children.

    GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS This product must be grounded (earthed). If should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This product is equipped with a cord having an equipment- grounding conductor and a grounding plug.     INTRODUCTION Welcome to the high tech world of electronic instruments. Your piano has been designed and made using the latest technology and computerized systems, to offer you years of trouble free pleasure. Read this manual carefully in order to fully exploit the potential of your instrument. POWER ON To turn on the instrument simply push the On/Off switch located at the left side of the keyboard.
  • Page 7 CONTROL PANEL Your instrument's control panel is designed to be easy to use. Most of the controls are single function. Each control has a LED showing if the function has been activated. Whenever your instrument is switched on, it will automatically select preset STEREO PIANO on the keyboard. VOICE SECTION To select the sounds listed below the sound buttons make sure that the SELECT button is switched Off.
  • Page 8 Release now the SELECT button and while holding the E.PIANO1 button press the BRASS button . The two sounds are now selected and they can be played at the same time. It is possible to change the balance using the (/\) and (\/) DATA buttons. 4 - 1 The Value 4 refers to the E.PIANO 1 volume and the value 1 refers to the BRASS sound.

    SPLIT When the SPLIT button is selected the instrument will automatically split the keyboard in two parts. To select the sound for the Left part of the keyboard the procedure is similar to the Dual function: Press and hold the selected STEREO PIANO sound button. While holding down the STEREO PIANO button also press the button related to the desired sound for the Left part of the keyboard, for example VOCAL.

  • Page 10: Chorus Effect

    CHORUS EFFECT This effect is similar to panning the sound between two speaker systems. If the CHORUS effect is selected, it will stay switched ON even if a different sound is selected while playing. At Power Up the CHORUS effect will always be switched OFF. OVERALL PRESETS The Overall Presets factory presets provide basic registrations to enable the owner to enjoy their new instrument straight away.
  • Page 11 TOUCH SENSE Just like an acoustic piano, your instrument has an 88 note keyboard with velocity control. This means the level of the audio signal will be in proportion with the velocity of the key pressed. If you play soft you will have a quiet sound, while if you play very hard you will have a much louder sound.
  • Page 12 DRUM GROOVE This is a new feature that allows to play the piano with a drum backing. It is possible to select one of the 40 available Drum Grooves ( see below). Each Drum Groove has its own Fill In / Intro To start the Drum Groove press the button.
  • Page 13 The display will show: The number 1 indicates that the pedal is now assigned to the Sostenuto function. Using the (/\) and (\/) DATA buttons it is possible to select number 2 to assign the pedal to the Start Stop function. to store the new configuration, simply press the SET button to exit the function To assign the Fill In feature follow these instructions: press the SET button.

TRANSPOSE The natural pitch of the instrument is C but can be modified as follows: press and hold the TRANSPOSE button in the FUNCTIONS section. The display will show: Using the (/\) and (\/) DATA buttons it is possible to transpose the instrument in the desired key according to the following table...
  • Page 15 PITCH In order to tune this instrument accurately to other instruments which may not be in pitch. Push the SET button. Push the TRANSPOSE/PITCH button to activate the PITCH function. Push the (/\) or (\/) to fine tune the instrument. Push the SET button to exit programming.
  • Page 16 Now record a new song in Track 3 in the same way. If you want to store in Track 3 a third part of the same song, press Track 1 first, Track 2 afterwards and than Track 3. Track 1 and Track 2 will be in Play mode and Track 3 will be in Record mode. At the end of recording of Track 3, switch Track 1, Track 2 and Track 3 Off to end recording.

    MIDI FEATURES - INTRODUCTION TO MIDI MIDI, the Musical Instrument Digital Interface, is a standard communication interface that allows Midi musical instruments to share information and control one another. Most Midi keyboards transmit notes and velocity information via the MIDI OUT socket whenever a note is played on the keyboard.
  • Page 18 This is the PROGRAM CHANGE ON/OFF page. The instrument will respond to Midi program change numbers received from an external keyboard causing the corresponding voice to be selected. They will also send a Midi program change to the external Midi device causing the corresponding voice to be selected.

    MIDI CHANNEL SELECTION The Midi system allows data on 16 different channels. In any Midi set-up, the Midi channels of the transmitting and receiving equipment mus t match for appropriate data transfer. The Midi default setting will transmit and receive on MIDI channel n. 1 NOTE - The Midi In can be set in two different modes.

    CONNECTIONS - Back panel HEADPHONE Two headphone sets can be plugged in at the same time for private practice. They disconnect the speaker system and allow you to play without disturbing the others being disturbed by outside noise. OUTPUTS The two outputs (Left and Right) are used to send the audio signal out to an external amplifier, mixer console or recording equipment.

    PANNELLO DI CONTROLLO Il pannello di controllo dello strumento è stato progettato per permetterne un facile utilizzo. Infatti quasi tutti i pulsanti sono a singola funzione con un proprio Led che si illumina se la funzione è stata selezionata. All'accensione lo strumento selezionerà sempre STEREO PIANO. SEZIONE VOICE Per selezionare uno dei suoni indicati al di sotto dei pulsanti assicurarsi che il pulsante SELECT sia spento.

  • Page 29 SPLIT Quando il pulsante SPLIT viene premuto lo strumento divide automaticamente la tastiera in due parti. Se si sta suonando u n suono singolo quando il pulsante SPLIT viene attivato, nella parte Sinistra dello strumento non è selezionato nessun suono. Per selezionare un suono per la parte Sinistra della tastiera: Premere e mantenere premuto il pulsante STEREO PIANO Mentre il pulsante STEREO PIANO viene mantenuto premuto premere anche il pulsante...
  • Page 30 All’accensione il Chorus si seleziona sempre in modo OFF (spento). OVERALL PRESETS I preset pre-impostati dalla Orla hanno lo scopo di fornire registrazioni di base per consentire all'utente di utilizzare da subito il proprio strumento. Sono disponibili 6 registrazioni. Per impostare nuovi OVERALL PRESET, è sufficiente procedere secondo le seguenti istruzioni: Premere il pulsante SET.
  • Page 31 2 - NORMALE (Normal) Questa dinamica riproduce la risposta standard dei piani acustici ed è l'impostazione predefinita dalla ORLA. 3 - MORBIDA (Soft) Questa dinamica consente di ottenere il massimo volume con una lieve pressione dei tasti.
  • Page 32 DRUM GROOVE Questa nuova funzione permette di suonare il vostro piano digitale accompagnati da un ritmo di batteria. Nella memoria interna dello strumento ci sono 40 Drum Grooves (vedi tabella) con il proprio Fill In /Intro. Premere DRUM GROOVE per far partire la traccia di batteria, ripremere per fermarla.

  • Page 35 PITCH - Trasposizione Fine Se necessario, è possibile una trasposizione ancora più accurata. Premere il pulsante SET - il Led si accende. Premere il pulsante TRANSPOSE/PITCH per attivare la funzione PITCH. Per raggiungere la nuova intonazione agire sui pulsanti (/\) o (\/). Appena raggiunta l'intonazione desiderata, premere il pulsante SET per memorizzare.
  • Page 36 È ora possibile memorizzare un nuovo brano in Track2 seguendo la stessa procedura. Se in Track2 si desidera memorizzare una seconda parte del medesimo brano, premere prima Track1 e poi Track2. Track1 sarà in modalità PLAYBACK e Track2 sarà in modalità RECORD.
  • Page 37 FUNZIONI MIDI - INTRODUZIONE AL MIDI Il MIDI, Interfaccia Digitale per Strumenti Musicali, è un linguaggio standard che permette agli strumenti musicali elettronici di interagire l'uno con l'altro. La maggior parte delle tastiere MIDI trasmette informazioni sulla nota premuta e sulla dinamica della stessa attraverso il MIDI OUT ogni volta che un tasto viene premuto.
