sensed at the transmitter unit and the failsafe will be soon activated if no
valid channel select button is depressed.
If
nO
telemetry is returned from the transmitter unit to the studio unit,
the input level at the transmitter and studio units should show LO, and
if
telemetry is sent, both indicators will show SET.
In addition, if no telemetry
is being received by the studio unit, the display will be blanked.
Under conditions under which telemetry is being returned in channel zero,
the terminal strip On the RY 15 Relay Interface Unit is
a
valid
input
for data.
Likewise,
~n
channel zero, Raise, Lower,
'
and Common outputs On the terminal strip
of the RY 15 are Valid control lines.
The
Raise/Lo\~er
relays are already internally
connected to channel zero at terminal 6.
Consult the schematics for further
enlightenment.
REMOTE SELECTION OF CHANNELS 1-15, RAISE AND LOWER FUNCTION
Depressing each channel selection button should select the appropriate relay
1n the RY-lS and cause the return of the data,
if
any) to the studio unit.
The
decimal points are automatically set at the studio unit.
If no data is present,
zeros will be returned.
If the commOn bus (Pin 16) of the group of three channels on the
same
connec-
tor is connected to terminal 6 of the terminal strip on the rear of the RY 15,
the commOn line and either raise or lower lines for that channel will be connec-
ted when the command is given at the studio.
Raise and Lower indicators in the
studio unit display window are illuminated are local verification that the command
has been sent, as are the individual channel indicators at the studio unit, local
verification of the selection of a specific channel.
LOCAL CONTROL OF THE TRANSMITTER UNIT
The Local/Remote switch On the transmitter unit determines the point of con-
trol of the system.
With the switch out, the unit is under control of the studio
unit, and with it is, the various selection switches at the transmitter site are
