The Channel Zero select button should be selected at times
~hen
the system
is
not being used for metering.
With
AM
subaudible off-the-air telemetry, or
with
FM
high-speed or subaudible
SeA
telemetry, a portion of the normal signal
power will be diverted for the remote control telemetry.
If
no readings are
being taken under normal conditions the unneeded emission component
of
the
broadcast signal should
be
eliminated by turning the telemetry
off, placing
the unit in channel zero
.
If
tolerance alarm monitors, fire/smoke, or intruder detectors are in-
active as connected to the alarm and statuB inputs, the telemetry will remain
off.
If the alarm input at the transmitter activated. i. e., grounded, the
telemetry will be sent from the transmitter and the alarm
indicator, and relay
if
installed, will
be
turned on.
If
the studio unit happens to be in channel zero, and either the control is
lost, or the transmitter unit is in local control, the transmitter will send the
telemetry.
If
the telemetry link is intact, the Alarm indicator at the studio
will come
On.
If a raise or lower command is sent while the remote control is 1n channel
zero, the telemetry will be sent from the Transmitter unit but while the raise
or lower command is in effect the alarm circuit will be inhibited.
It will be
momentarily activated with the cessation of that command and also when channel
zero

first selected after another channel has been.
If no channel is selected at the studio unit, unless the studio unit

modified by removing
wire W from the main studio logic board, channel zero will
be selected at the transmitter site.
Unless channel zero is specifically selected,
the alarm circuit will not work.
