Device Driver Installation User's Guide on the ServeRAID M
Documentation CD. Be sure to use the latest Service Packs
provided by the operating system manufacturer and to review
the readme file that accompanies the driver.
After the you install the controller, you must configure it and install the
operating system driver. The ServeRAID-M Software User's Guide
instructs you on the configuration options and how to set them on your
controller. The ServeRAID-M Device Driver Installation User's Guide
provides detailed installation instructions for operating system drivers.
This section provides step-by-step instructions for connecting the
ServeRAID M5120 SAS/SATA controller to a drive enclosure containing
SAS physical disks, SATA physical disks, or a combination of both disk
types.
Follow these steps to connect the controller to a drive enclosure.
Step 1.
Connect the Mini SAS x4 connector on one end of the cable to
an external port on the controller, as shown in the following
figure.
Step 2.
Connect the other end of the Mini SAS x4 cable to the external
port on the drive enclosure.
